Spotify has apps for nearly all platforms. But you can still not forget about the Spotify web player. Sometime you may use your office computer or a PC where you can not download software. Spotify web player comes as a helping hand. This this post we will sow how you can use Spotify web player.
Open Spotify Web Player
Before opening Spotify Web Player make sure your browser is updated. Go to any popular web browser like chrome, brave, Firefox. Search the link open.spotify.com in search bar.
And you will see the Spotify web player as seen in the image. But you can not play music until you sign in. If you are a new user you need to sign up to Spotify. Now need to worry about payment as Spotify has a free plan also.
Go to the top right corner and click log in or sign up if you are new user. You can make your account using Google or Facebook also.
Find Music In Spotify Web Player
You can search the Spotify as per your taste. You can search Spotify for podcasts, artists, albums, new releases and genres.
In the Spotify home page, you can see only a handful collection. Spotify home page has collections from your latest tastes or from trends in your location. Make sure you use the Spotify Search to get exactly what you are looking for.
Artist And Album In Spotify Web Player
In Spotify you can click the artist name any where and go to the songs by that artist. Moreover you can search for a particular artist or album in the search bar. Normally the songs are sorted by popularity order, means the most popular tracks first.
If you move a bit down on the artist’s page you will some popular albums by the artist. You can go to the album to check the tracks. You can see the length of each track on the right side of the track.
Save Music In Spotify Library
If you love a track, you can save it in Spotify library for listening later also. To save an artist in Spotify Library click on the follow button at the top.
You can access your library on the left side bar. In the library you can see your Saved Playlist, Podcast, Artists, Albums in the top left corner.
On the side bar, you can see a separate entry for liked songs. You can save a particular song you love with out saving the whole playlist.
Now Playing And Queue In Spotify
If you played any music or podcast, you might have noticed a Now Playing bar at the bottom. This has embedded controls like next, previous, play/pause. There is a double arrow on the right bottom corner which you can click to make the Now Playing bar bigger.
Just after the music name on the left bottom, you can see a heart sign. You can click the heart sign to add the music to your liked list.
On the right bottom of the player you can see some icons. The mic symbol icon is for lyrics of the playing song. The stack symbol is for queue. And after that is the icon to connect to other device. At last is the slider to change volume.
The queue button is represented by stack. Queue shows the list of music that will be played after the current song. You can add any music to queue, right click on the music and select queue.
Spotify Web Player Vs App
Spotify app has a lot more extra features. One of the most important features that is missed out in the Spotify web player is the sorting option in playlist. In the Spotify app, you can sort music in the playlist.
There are other shortcomings in the web player like the keyboard shortcuts. A lot keyboard shortcuts do not work in the Spotify web player.
But overall, if you have any problem and can not download the app, then you can definitely go for the web player.
