Facebook does not directly inform its users if someone has been blocked in Facebook. But you can use these signs to check if you have been blocked.
Ask a Mutual Friend to Check if Their Profile Is Still Up
This is the most direct manner through which you can determine if somebody on Facebook has blocked you because the question here is whether it is the person who has deactivated their account or had it deleted, instead of blocking you.
These can resemble one another, and this could lead to the idea that if someone who has had Facebook dropped, he/she has blocked you.
Well, what is the sign that someone blocked you when you are wondering whether unfriending or deactivating their account?Ask a mutual friend. If it so happens that the one you are worried has blocked you is shared with any common friend then, that mutual contact may be kindly called to quietly check whether the person now has a profile online.
If their profile is gone, then they probably haven’t blocked you: the have deleted the Facebook. If the person has a profile and has ignored you already, then they could have blocked you. As well as these methods, there are more ways for us to detect them, so we’ll be back to discuss the rest.
Use a Mutual Friend’s Profile to Find Out Who Blocked You on Facebook
Pick up the profile of someone you and the person that your ex could have blocked both know. You may see a few friends of theirs listed. Click See All. It should also inform you, how many mutual connections you have.
You come across their contacts as their names will be enlisted one by one or you may type their name in the field where it reads “Search Friends”.
Although you are still curious to learn why they blocked you in the first place, this proves that at least they haven’t blocked you. If sight can’t give you any hints, lack of visibility could be another reason for this. They could have deactivated their accounts on the whole.
Try to Tag Someone Who Might’ve Blocked You
Typically, if you want to mention a friend in a meme or a post, you would type only their name and then point to the link to their profile and tap it. They’ll be informed and will be shown the same the next time they will be logging in. On the flip side, if the particular person has blocked you, then you won’t be able to see their posts as well as tag them in yours.
Additionally, you have to figure out whether you’ve been removed or just plain unfriended. Whether or not tagging someone who has disappeared from you on Facebook is possible depends on the one who has deleted the friend request. It also depends on the settings of a group you might be a part of: If they are not in a private group with you and you haven’t become friends yet, you can’t tag them at all.
Use Facebook Search to Check Who Has Blocked You
Find your friend on Facebook. You can log in, and the search bar will appear at the top-left side of the page. Same as the Facebook app, the Instagram app has its search function as its top of the feed.
From the search results, a list of profiles and pages pop-ups. Toggles results by People clicking on. So, if you have been blocked by that person, then the profile of that person won’t appear here. While if you’re using All, that’s how you will see them even they have you blocked, but you can’t do anything with it.
If somebody just blocked you from seeing their entire profile, you’ll be able to partially view it (with the account holder’s settings determining the extent of the partial view). If they have deleted FB the account then they won’t appear there also.
Even in a search you can still encounter the photos of the person in question but if they have suspended your account from tagging s/he will be showing up as a dead link.
Check Previous Facebook Messages
The main strategy is based on the fact that you have to message somebody you have already spoken with and not when it comes to strangers. Do your best to bring to memory any writings related to you that were done by him/her on your Facebook profile or if you turned off others posting on your Facebook time line, try to remember a mutual friend’s profile. It could be a birthday message just to brighten my day, a simple festive greeting, or anything incidental.
Typically you can’t see the messages once you have been blocked from seeing them. Disappearance of their likes is also one possibility. If in the rarer cases the messages will still be there but the person’s name won’t pop up.
Look on Facebook Messenger for Someone Who Might’ve Blocked You
Go to Messenger then click on Seen All in Messenger in the pull-down menu. Examine the conversation between you and the representative. If you’ve been blocked, there is no way you will be able to see their profile and click on their name.
You won’t be able to send them a message either: right in the place of the text box will be the message, “This person is not available on Messenger.”
Keep in mind that neither will their name appear if they’ve deleted their account while deactivation is different. If they have deleted their account, the Messenger thread will say “Fb User.” Please note that they might still be using Facebook Messenger without having Facebook account; nonetheless, if you can get to speak to them here and on Facebook you still count as friends.
Try to Invite Them to Events
People also use Facebook to set up events, for organizing numerous gathering occasions, such as birthdays, dinners and Christmas celebrations. However, once you’ve blocked somebody you can’t add them as a friend anymore.
Go to Events > Create Event > Create Private Event. On having entered the details, you are to send invitations to a number of people by tagging their respective profile. Either go to an event that’s been created by someone else, and invite your friends either in “Go with friends” section of the page, or click on the ellipsis at the bottom right of the event to also create an invite for your friends.
If that person is not there, they can be know to be blocked, unfriended , or not on Facebook any more. Similarly, you are unable to send any requests to those who have blocked you, be it on joining or liking your pages.
Try to Block Someone Who May Have Blocked You
You just confirmed the fact that they either have deactivated their FB profile or they’re not on FB now by seeing the blocking option on FB. It’s similar to tagging: however, you can only tag people on your follower list and people you are not blocked from tagging. The rules are then that you can only block those who haven’t blocked you.
If using your browser to go to Facebook, sign in and press the down arrow on the top-right corner of your feed. From Settings & privacy > Settings > Blocking type the name of a user under Block users. By clicking on the Block icon, a list of profiles will appear, allowing to you to block any unwanted contacts.
If there is no one else, then either they have deactivated their account, they have deleted it, or they have blocked you.
You may do this on your Facebook app by going to your friend’s profile, tapping the ellipsis to access their Profile settings, and lastly, go to the Block. For Facebook Lite, if they even can’t get to her profile, then they’ve already deleted their Facebook account.
In addition to this, you may opt for blocking him on Facebook Messenger. But this does not necessarily mean that they have blocked you on Facebook itself—they might have just made the choice to stop the people from contacting them in Facebook messenger only.
The only way to get a 100 % sure answer to your doubt is to ask the person directly. Alternatively, you could hint to a mutual friend to ask on your behalf but without getting too direct about the situation. The best you can do is get your mutual friend to check whether your contact is active or not.
If it turns out you got blocked by someone on Facebook you’re going to probably get angry and annoyed, and you might feel that you did nothing to receive such treatment. In general, it is unnecessary to make yourself anxious about it. It could be something small, such simple from a misunderstanding.
