People are concerned about their data on Facebook. Most of the users want a very private Facebook. However making Facebook completely private is not possible.

But there are a lot of changes you can make in your Facebook account to take a step towards your privacy. Here in this post we will see some tips to adjust your Facebook privacy settings.

1. Opt-out Off Facebook Activity

It is nothing new that Facebook saves users data on what they do on their site. They use this data to show you targeted ads and earn revenue. But a lot people do not know that Facebook also collects data from other websites and apps you have used.

If you are not comfortable with sharing this data, you can stop sharing it by changing the settings below.

Go to Settings & Privacy > Settings > Off-Facebook Activity > Disconnect Future Activity.

You can also clear your Off Facebook Activity history by tapping on clear history.

2. Edit Who Can See Your Posts

Facebook by default sets the post sharing settings to friends. This means people who are only your friends can see your posts. But you can change this settings and limit who can see your posts. You can choose a more private option like only me, or you can choose friends except (any particular friend).

To change this settings you need to go to Settings & Privacy > Settings > Posts > Who can see Future Posts. And select whome you want to share your posts with.

You can also select who can see your past posts by selecting Limit Who Can See Past Posts.

3. Limit Access To Your Profile

There is a lot of information about you on Facebook. Information like your contact details, your interests, education qualifications, etc. can be accessed by anyone on Facebook. But you can stop people from accessing this information by changing the below settings.

Go to your profile by clicking on your photo on top right corner. Click on Edit profile > Edit Your About Info. And change the audience for each piece of information.

4. Turn Off Continuous Contact Upload

Back in earlier days it was a very popular way to share contacts on Facebook to make friends. But now with the increase in concern about privacy, it is not the right way. You may not want to share your contacts to be with Facebook. Facebook allows you to turn off this settings.

Go to Settings & Privacy > Settings > Upload Contacts > Continuous Contacts Uploads

5. Stop Search Engines From Indexing Your Profile

By default, Facebook and other social media allows search engines like Google to index your profile. This means that, if someone searches your name in Googe they can view information about you.

If you are concerned about your privacy, and do not want people to get your name easily they you must change some settings.

Go to Settings & Privacy > Settings > How People Find And Contact You. Then go to Do You Want Search Engines Outside Of Facebook To Link Your Profile? And toggle this option to off.
